Fall/Winter Nail Trends 2016

1: ROUNDED NAILS

It was during the New York Fashion show that we first realize that the rounded nail designs that were so big during the spring/summer fashion shows are here to stay for a while. Square nail designs may be a favorite for many, but the round form looks chicer, complicated and down to earth. Add gorgeous shade lacquer to it, like Monique Lhuillier’s shimmering blues or the inky mahogany of Derek Lam and you have an intriguing mixture of awesome colors and beautiful nails.

2: NEGATIVE SPACE NAIL ART

Some of the best nail art are negative space versions of the beautiful lacquer paints attached to the digits. They get up one of the largest nail patterns for the spring/summer and now have transferred to the fall/winter, effectively taking over the whole of the year with their wonderful appeal. Chevron negative space nails from KISS shaped a unique look with the combination of tangerine lips at Kaelen.

3: SHORT NAILS

Also big in the patterns report for the spring/summer 2016 period, the shorter nails are in style. The appearances are for the working women who face chipped nails where they move so in order to keep those digits looking as beautiful as the rest of the limbs and face, it comes in handy to cut the nail designs and add grand colors, particularly blues for the fall/winter seasons as seen at Costello Tagliapietra. Short nails appear all over, counting at Nicole Miller, Monique Lhuillier, Ohne Titel, and Rebecca Minkoff.

4: ALL ABOUT BLUE MANICURE

Blue eyeshadow was big on the list, so it should be expected that the nail designs would match with an equally, if not colored blue to match the nail trends 2016 for fall/winter. This was surely true of the creations by Benjamin Puckey at Karen Walker. The sexy looks like those seen on Monique Lhuillier’s fashion show were also complemented with shimmering blue nails that caught our eyes and captivated our senses.

5: MATTE NAIL POLISH

Not all nail polish treatments are made shiny. Seldom, they also go matte, a trend that was big in the spring/summer fashion shows as well, seen after in September. Matte nails make for an attractive look and playing with art on them can come in handy. But, these shows, including the Marissa Webb catwalk, have got a simpler statement with the color spread on in a matte lacquer without any shine and any other embellishments.

6: ARTISTIC SPLATTER NAILS MAKE IT BIG

If you ever careful splattered canvases to be awesome artistic looks, you must be pleasantly surprised to see that now you will be carrying about those beautiful splatters on your nails. Can you imagine anything more intriguing that a gray background with yellow, blue, red and orange lines and dots and marked looks all over those pretty digits of yours? We certainly loved seeing them take over the Desigual fashion show during the New York Fashion Week.

7: THE UPDATED FRENCH MANICURE

The French manicure seems been a classic that we cannot live without. It was shaped to show off more of a chic elegance that environs us daily, as our nails help finish off the dress we deem to create each morning. When it gets to the fashion house Tibi, Jin Soon Choi shaped a neutral look that was caused by “the sculptural lines, varied textures and icy palette feature throughout the collection.” Curved line horizontal striped made their way across the middle of the nail to the tips.

8: METALLIC AND JEWEL NAIL POLISH TONES THROUGHOUT

Metallic and jewel tones are nice in general, but when you add them to your nails, it appears as if you are worth a million bucks. There is just something utterly alluring on wearing an emerald or sapphire color on those fingers of yours and having them take the light with a light shimmer as you go on your day and enjoy your activities. That is almost certainly why we found the Nicole Miller rich jewel toned collection to be so inspiring, chiefly when you see a black and green combination to create the perfect emerald.

9: THE BLACK AND WHITE COMBO

We saw it several time, either as black and white or black and beige, but we cannot flee the fact that black polish is used to create extra drama on an already bright color. Black and white make for an overwhelming combination, and no house can show that off larger than Kenzo, with those ideal black striped up the center of the stark white nails. Black and white were the mixture with touches of burgundy and gray at Rachel Antonoff, looking amazing in a striped nail design.

10: SUNSET TONES ON NAILS

At Mara Hoffman, the nails stood out next to the backdrop of magnificent outfits. There was something reminiscent of the Star Wars movies and the good-looking sunset scenes that had us all captivated for decades. The looks to reflect the earth’s unique tones, like layer upon the bed of sand and rock, using ‘70s shades and the vibe of the collection to make the ideal nail art. You can use multiple colors to come to this end that is enchanting unto itself.
